From now...

I think from now on I'm going to try and post daily (at least daily when I'm in the country and as much as I can when I'm not). It becomes a reason to do things, an excuse to plan bad arrange to go out and see things, which I might just need on those weekends when it's just me here.

I'm kind of looking forward to it though, I'm going to make the most of every minute and fit in as much as I possibly can ♡

Too long...

That's how long it's been at least it feels like it, my time's been filled with work (two weeks holiday starting Friday has pushed every deadline forward to oh yes, now), fun and not waiting Rhys to move away.

This weekend was incredible, meals out, bristol balloon fiesta, feeding animals at the farm (why wouldn't I do that as a child :-\) and just relaxing. A truly amazing weekend, just slightly clouded by it being Rhys' bon voyage weekend.

It will be fine I have no doubt of that but that in no way means I'm looking forward to it we have a few weeks still though :-)

Amazing mazes!

Getting lost is always more fun in a maze though I maintain I would have beaten Rhys if he hadn't had started following me!

Happiness is sharing

Today I've worked it out, I love it here I truly do, but being here without somebody to share it with just isn't the same. I guess it's lonely. Don't get me wrong I'm quite happy to be on my own some of the time, but this is when I'm really content; sat outside on a gorgeous evening, amazing company and drink in hand, it doesn't get much better :-)

Lessons Learned

Three days in and I'm happy, my brain feels like it's about to explode, and there have been a couple of low moments, but I think this was the right decision for me, and now, being here I can see how the last three years have changed me, hopefully for the better. It doesn't feel easy this time, but easier I think, at least professionally. Personally outside of work, I almost really screwed that one up, but I think it's better now, I've learnt.

On that note, a few lessons from the first few days;

- You don't make friends in silence, or with a frown, very easily. Smile, relax and everything becomes simpler
- Think first, speak second; if you're on the phone words are all someone has to go by.
- Ask, and if you need to, ask again

And finally;

- All those tedious design projects that at the time felt like they were being inflicted upon me, actually might just pay off, as much as I hate to admit.

I'm enjoying this so far, but I guess the real test comes on Friday when everyone is back in and I do the introductions once again. So I'll just make the most of everything and wait and see what happens.

On Severn

And now I know why it's called 'on Severn'!

Finding God

My new walk to church is a beautiful one, walking along here is just peaceful enough to gather my thoughts and get tin the 'right' frame of mind :-)
